Alicia Eggert

Alicia Eggert (1981) is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the relationship between language, the image and time. Her work has been exhibited in a number of institutions of national and international relevance, such as, among others: the CAFA – Art Museum, Beijing; the Triennale Design Museum, Milan; the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA2012) at the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History, and the Artefact Festival in Leuven, Belgium. Her most recent solo shows were held at The MAC (Dallas, Texas), T+H Gallery (Boston), Harvard Medical School (Boston) and Artisphere (Arlington, Vancouver). Alicia Eggert is also the recipient of several prizes, including a TED Fellowship, a Direct Artist Grant from the Harpo Foundation, an Artist Microgrant from the Nasher Sculpture Center, an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Maine Arts Commission, and the Grand Prize of the Dave Bown Projects Competition. She has also been an artist-in-residence at Google Tilt Brush, Sculpture Space, True/False Film Festival, and the Tides Institute and Museum of Art. Her work was featured in The Washington Post and The Huffington Post, and in such publications as Typoholic: Material Types in Design, Foundations of Digital Art and Design with Adobe Creative Cloud and Elements and Principles of 4D Art & Design. Alicia earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University in 2004, and a Masters of Fine Arts in Sculpture/Dimensional Studies from Alfred University in 2009. She has taught sculptural and architectural drawing at the Bowdoin College, Maine (2010-2014). Currently she is an Assistant Professor of Studio Art and Sculpture Program Coordinator at the University of North Texas, Denton.
