Jorge Galindo (Madrid, 1965) attended, during the late 1980s and early 1990s, a number of courses at the Circulo de Bellas Artes de Madrid. In 1991, while pursuing those studies, a course given by Julian Schnabel had a major impact in his artistic development. Since the late 1980s, Jorge Galindo has regularly made solo exhibitions across Europe, North America and South America. He currently lives and works in Borox, a city in the province of Toledo, Castille-La Mancha, Spain. Over the past 30 years, Jorge Galindo has been characterised by gestural, “expressionist” paintings that frequently include collaged elements. Combining a wide variety of materials, his exuberant and colour-rich surfaces are executed in an energetic, sometimes chaotic style.
