Vitor Mejuto

Vítor Mejuto (Barcelona, 1969) is a painter, photographer and graphic editor of the newspaper La Voz de Galicia. He studied at Fine Art School in Salamanca in the late 1980’s and his artistic practice is essencially pictorial. Among his most relevant projects the highlights are 'Pintor en la Corte' (Formatocomodo, 2018), 'O livro das Palmeiras' (Fernando Santos, 2018), 'Naturales y Sociales' (Trinta, 2019) and ‘Torreón de tramoya’ (Centro Párraga, 2020). It is also worth mentioning his recent artistic residency Projeto Fidalga Residência of São Paulo whose exhibition was entitled ‘Copo Americano’, as well as his participation in the collective exhibition on art and drawing “Drift” at Museo Naturgy Mac with the artwork 'El silabario perdido'. In 2021 he participates in the collective exhibitions “Galicia Futura” at Cidade da Cultura and “Pingas Rompentes” cellection CGAC. Also in 2021 he carried out two site-specific interventions: “Xustiza Ärtabra” at Monasterio de Santa Catalina de Montefaro curated by David Barro, as well as “Quadern d’Artà” in Maiorca, curated by Fernando Gómez de la Cuesta. In 2022 he participated in the collective exhibition Cruzamentos na Arte Galega da Colecção CGAC.
